About
Puget Sound Council for Reviewing Children’s books is a regional reviewing organization in Washington State. We are composed of school and public librarians and retired librarians, who share a passion for reading, reviewing, and enjoying children’s literature.
The council receives books from more than 150 publishers and imprints. Selected titles are presented orally at the monthly meetings and written reviews of all books are published and mailed to members. Reviewed books are kept in the Children’s Curriculum Materials area on the 3rd floor of the Campus Library at the University of Washington Bothell. The books are available for examination by members and students. Twice a year the books are donated to schools and organizations that have little or no budget for books.
PSC provides TWO UNIQUE SERVICES to you:
- PSC reviews many books from local publishers and small presses (including books that would otherwise not be reviewed) and the big well-known publishers.
- PSC reviews books at the request of our members who need a professional publication to review a book before it can be purchased.
